AstroErotics™: an astrological approach to sensuality, pleasure, and relationships. Held by tradition yet embracing the emergent wildness of contemporary life, this retreat invites you to get to know your erotic styles and develop a sacred approach to intimacy—with yourself, your fellow humans, and the environment. In the company of like-minded explorers, this retreat uses experiential approaches to astrology as a practice of soul and spirit, connecting you to the wider relational field you live in. Developed by Nate Speare, this work combines bodywork within the frameworks of Urban Tantra and the Wheel of Consent with shamanic and mythopoetic approaches to astrology. It integrates movement-based practices with artisanal planetary masks, created and wood-carved in Bali, corresponding to the Poleng Mask lineage of Per Brahe
AstroErotics™ works with planetary archetypes and zodiac signs as energy centers—nodes of intimacy and relationality. Steeped in astrological and mythopoetic traditions yet brought up to date for practical use in our 21st-century erotic lives, this work offers opportunities to move past blocks in erotic relationships and deepen awareness of how body, psyche, and relational field interconnect within a chthonically sacred paradigm. You will gain liberation from shame and stigma, along with practical tools for solo and partnered exploration.
As a 14-day retreat, this experience is also steeped in the polytheistic landscape of Bali on the outskirts of Ubud, which becomes active feedback for our inquiries into sacred eros. You can expect solo exercises, group rituals, and opportunities to develop your artistic voice.
The tropical (earth-based) zodiac—rooted in the solstices and equinoxes—links with the energetics of the spine and the chakra system, based on the understanding that the Earth itself has energy centers. In AstroErotics, the cartography of the zodiac becomes a way for imaginal realities, including the sensual imagination, and the body to coincide. Consent is the cornerstone of everything practiced in AstroErotics. This is a space to explore your body, yourself, and your erotic connection to the world—human and other-than-human. It is not a space where hookups, dating, or courtship are priorities.
