IMAGE HEALING

THE MATERIAL of HEALING

After descriptions of the healing masks you will find a little story about how we unveil the healing effect in many of our masks.

When my book will be published you can read the whole fantastic story there. Or get the narrative story telling here at Bali Theatre Work Centre.

INNER CHILD.

First of all, we introduce you to the most important thing in our lives. Our inner child. Opening up to the child can be quite essential to move forward in the healing process. The child is still there. Its power, its will and so much more. And it is a blessing to awaken it and free it.

It is not about the memory of what happened to the child; that is secondary to begin with... No, the real child who came to life to live and laugh and enjoy his freedom.

ISENHEIM ALTAR, COLMAR, FRANCE.

A Little story about how the idea about healing masks came through. When my book will be published you can read the whoe fantastic store there.

That’s the masterpiece by Matthias Grünewald, painted around 1512–1516. It’s housed in the Musée d'Unterlinden in Colmar, France.

It was made for the Monastery of St. Anthony in Isenheim. The monks there cared for people with "St. Anthony's Fire" — a painful skin disease. So, the art was meant to bring comfort to the sick.

It’s a multi-panel altar that changes for different feast days. The most famous part is the Crucifixion — with Christ’s body covered in sores to mirror what the patients were going through.

The contrast: When closed, you get the dark, painful scenes. When opened for holidays, it transforms into bright, joyful scenes like the Annunciation and Resurrection.

It’s basically art as medicine + theology all in one.

Patients with ergotism/"St. Anthony's Fire" would lie in the chapel and look at it while they healed.

Grünewald painted their suffering right into the Crucifixion panel so they’d feel seen. Then the other panels give them hope.

I needed to explore the art that could/can heal. I already had some experiences with my previous masks that indicated a quality of healing for minor incidents on the body and mind. But I had no clue what it was.

If I could go to Colmar and make sketches of different characters and make masks of them, they might have a healing effect on the users of the masks.

Or at least I would be able to figure out what my masks could do and why.

The internet in its sparse beginning made the research and preparation only possible through the library’s art books, back and forth, which drove the librarian to madness.

“I won’t be bothered to drive you to

Colmar in Alsace!”

The driver quit all agreements two days before departure to Colmar. Weeks of preparation got destroyed.

The intention to obstruct this important odyssey did the opposite; it ignited a fantastic chain reaction of positive energies that drove me directly into the arms of an ensemble of helping, laughing spirits. The travel to Bali was full of amazing obstacles as a test to strengthen what would follow.

3 days later at our Christmas party our CEO gave me a Christmas gift. A book about angels. Scrolling through the material I suddenly found and angel from the altar- in Colmar…My journey to Bali was saved and would not show up emptyhanded. 9 angels would we created

 I never got to Colmar.

Today, where the internet can provide me with the amazing photos of the Altar, I can see that I should have made more effort to visit the place later. But I lost the steam and replaced it with something else similarly important.

I already knew that some of the masks can remove small pain from injuries or colds; there is no doubt after many years of work... or especially to be able to get the energies to run freely again after a broken arm or leg, etc.

At first, we thought it was because the masks transformed the body into another character and that character did not have a pain body; that is how we experienced the impact of the masks the first time.

Later, in a somewhat longer workshop, an actor told me that his epilepsy disappeared, and another one told the same story.

Be careful.‼!

ANGELS FROM 1996 (9)

(Variations of different themes, but combined, they multiply their effects if needed.)

ANGELS FROM 2012 ( 9 MASKS)

Pure Image masks. The 9 different masks have a special image embedded that works directly on the body.

LOVE MASKS (9)

Images from miniature paintings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The museum’s collection of love themes from Punjab, India. They fill the body with love for oneself. Restore, rebuild, recharge and give love!

KAMA SUTRA MASKS (3)

The Kama Sutra is an ancient Sanskrit text written in India between the 2nd century BC and the 4th century AD.

While modern popular culture focuses almost exclusively on its explicit positions, the sexual content makes up only about 20% of the text.

But at its core, the Kama Sutra is a comprehensive ancient guide to living a refined life, cultivating relationships, and emotional connection.

In classical Hindu philosophy, human life is structured around four fundamental goals.

Dharma: Duty, ethics, and living virtuously.

Artha: Wealth, career, and financial security.

Kama: Desire, love, intimacy, pleasure, and aesthetic enjoyment.

Moksha: Spiritual liberation and enlightenment.

MOON MASKS (5)

We have made 5 masks that represent the five phases of the moon cycle over 28 days, and each represents a quality of each moon phase.

The Full Moon mask and the New Moon mask are sparkling, happy kids that take the opportunity to express their amazing imaginations.

The combination with the love masks or the Kama Sutra masks is healing beyond belief.

GOLDEN HEALING MASKS

5 Special healing masks covered with gold-leaf. A fantastic art work by Ida Bagus Anom from 2007. They cover a more subtitle healing effects. It means that each individual take from the masks what they need.

DHARMA SATYA (9 masks)

Dharma Satya means truth, a truthful duty,

or faithful virtue.

A break from others' meaning of life and the world manifested in electronic communication and artificial intelligence. But it also lets the user take an internal look at what and who speaks inside you. Who is that moral voice that sometimes comes out; is it really me or is it my teacher, mother, or father, etc.? It is a preparatory mask for the metaphysical mask.

METAPHYSICAL MASKS (5)

The mask explores the fundamental nature of reality and the relationship between mind and matter. It is most functional after the use of Dharma Sadya.

ATMAN MASK (1)

In Hindu philosophy, Atman (आत्मन्) refers to the eternal, true self—the immortal soul or essence of an individual that exists beyond the physical body, mind, and ego.

ICON MASKS  (6)

It is based on the idea of a "double perspective," as we call it.

We use it for an actor to break through to the audience and let the audience break through to the actor or performer on stage.

It is a physical/mental experience, and it works.

VOICE HEALING MASKS

CHAKRAATTACHED VOICE MASKS

The masks use the chakra system in the body to gain the ultimate freedom for the voice. We combine them with the pure chakra masks so the voice and the chakra energy in the body can build the bridge together.

OPERAMASKS

WAYAN KULIT MASKS

THE BALINESE will receive healing for free.

We follow closely the laws for healing in Indonesia.
