TAKSU MASK IDA BAGUS ANOM: 2008 BALI. Design by Per Brahe

YOU SHALL LOVE

Beyond Hearing and Seeing YEATS, MASK and TRANSFORMATION

14th of June to 30th of June 2026

Due to the increasing confusion surrounding War and Peace and oil, we have been required to change the program for our 14 days at the end of June 2026.

We've transformed the fixed days so we can freely focus on you, the individual artist's time frame, financial needs, and personal preferences.

Due to rising flight prices, Declan Drohan has been so kind to the Bali Theatre Work Centre and its staff, and has offered to stay home in Ireland.

This means that there are various themes that have been omitted, but it opens up so much more, with a freer and dynamic teaching for the individual participant, which is also in line with the Balinese society we find ourselves in.

What you want, you shall get!

And for this, we can offer a very wide range of artistic facts, which we will mail separately, upon request, or describe through an internet meeting.

Our unique Balinese faculty is still with us and is ready to inspire, explain, and teach, upon request, the functions of dance, masks, clowns, and shadow puppets and their unique dynamic voice material, which we use as our foundation for developing the actors' voices.

All material is collected and can be incorporated in, for example, Shakespeare's texts, which thereby gives a clear picture of how the Balinese expressive art material can inspire and support the expression of actors in the Western world in film and theatre.

Sami Sameton We Are Friend!

The village where we work and live, Lodsema, takes care of and preserves a very fine and  Spiritual/Selonding-orchestra. Selonding is a traditional Balinese gamelan ensemble, typically featuring metallophones and gongs made from iron, producing a distinctive resonant sound. It's often played for ceremonial and ritual dedications.

“SAMI SEMETON” “"We are all friends", is the adorable name of the band which plays live here at the theatre on special teaching days, where the artist works with Charisma (TAKSU), Metaphysical masks, Atman masks(soul), and the Icon Mask. Go to the MASKS on our webpage and read about the variation of masks we use. We" hold on to one sacral mask named "beyond the beyond" because that's what hides behind the Taksu energi.

It is what it is, indispensable, and very powerful and relevant, but also a unique material that we have developed and worked with for many years.

We handle it with deep love and feel fortunate that we were given this material to share with others for their benefit.

Also, listen to us describing our one-month Certificate Program. A training in Combined Masks, Dance, and Michael Chekhov advancement, and get a description of the content of the schedule and the financial conditions.

We are happy to write this text here, forward it, and place it on our website. It has brought joy, peace, and tranquillity to our hearts. Be welcome here so we can share it with you!

All masks are rooted in the Balinese mask culture and environment, which the Bali Theatre Work Centre has supported for the last 36 years. Every mask has been uniquely designed by Per Brahe and is not a copy of others’ work. As well as they are not using the original Balinese ceremonial mask at all.
